Zoe Saldaña’s micro bangs look extreme and stylish on the red carpet

Throughout Zoe Saldaña’s larger-than-life film career, she’s undergone more than a few major physical transformations for the characters she plays, not the least of which is her striking stare into the Avatar franchise. But even off-screen, Saldaña seems drawn to experimental — but still elegant — beauty choices that showcase her timeless features and impressive aesthetic range. Case in office? Zoe Saldaña’s side-swept micro bangs on the red carpet, which somehow look so vintage-inspired and entirely fresh at the same time. Just a remarkable moment in a complete spectacular series Avatar first looks, the film’s debut essentially doubled as the perfect opportunity for Saldaña to evolve her full lineup as a fashion and beauty icon – you don’t become the second highest-grossing movie actress already without a bit of talent, right?

Saldaña’s micro bun may be one of many early looks from the World Press Tour, but it’s one of her best — and arguably. the best – so far. The Audrey Hepburn-esque updo was created by celebrity hairstylist Mara Roszak, who works with every celebrity imaginable, including Olivia Wilde, Natalie Portman, and Hailey Bieber. In a behind-the-scenes photo shared to her Instagram, Roszak showed off quick snippets of how she created the look.

Although the perspective of the camera makes it hard to tell if Roszak cut bangs, cut real bangs, or arranged Saldaña’s ends to look like bangs (the most likely scenario), one thing is certain – the ultra- short is extremely flattering, making the actor’s arched brows stand out more than an inch on both sides. The sheen of the bun is glass-like and shiny too. Roszak shared that she applied a small handful of treatment oil from her own best-selling brand, Rosz, followed by Augustinus Bader leave-in hair treatment to finish the look with more softness and structure.

Her warm red-toned brunette hair color is a subtly stunning complement to the red accents in her look — check out the dark red nails and the coordinating ruby choker-lip color combo. This equally chic makeup look is the work of celebrity makeup artist Vera Steimberg, whose clients include stars like Tracee Ellis Ross, Zazie Beetz and Gabrielle Union. On her own Instagram page, Steimberg gave fans a behind-the-scenes look at the exact products used for Saldaña’s glamorous look, which included picks from Pat McGrath Labs, Dior, Lisa Eldridge and Victoria Beckham Beauty, along with skin prep. of Augustinus Bader massaged by Lord Gavin McLeod-Valentine.

Serving up enough beauty and fashion inspiration in a single week to last all of 2023, Saldaña’s always-exciting looks almost have you wishing Avatar the press cycle would never end.
