Beauty trends predicted for 2023

Super durability

As consumers become more aware of their personal effect on the environment, LOOKFANTASTIC sees an increase in demand for refillable and reusable packaging. From perfumes to fake tans, the beauty industry is slowly introducing more refillable packaging and taking responsibility for its carbon footprint.

Self-care is going nowhere

“Beauty isn’t just about making us look good, it’s about making us feel good,” says LOOKFANTASTIC, so in 2023 “we expect to see an increase in the ‘treat yourself’ attitude.” Given the cost of living, this prospect may not be affordable for many people, but according to research, people are investing in self-care more than ever. This includes sexual wellness, beauty products, and brands that provide enhancement. Treat your hair like your skin

This trend is all about upgrading your hair care routine to the same level as your skin care routine. LOOKFANTASTIC has seen an increase in products containing ingredients such as hyaluronic acid, squalane, niacinamide and glycerin, and they expect to see more skincare favorites appear in the haircare market. The first step in “hair skinning” is to identify your hair type and the products and ingredients that work best for you, in order to customize your routine.

Famous beauty brands

Alicia Keys, Hailey Bieber, Idris and Sabrina Elba, Gwen Stefani, Kim Kardashian, Brad Pitt, Harry Styles… This year we’ve been inundated with celebrities jumping on the skincare and beauty bandwagon, and there’s no There are no signs of a slowdown for 2023.

Experiment and express yourself

We’ve already seen bold makeup and fashion looks take over this year, including Barbiecore and Gorpcore, but LOOKFANTASTIC predicts even more experimentation with makeup next year.

two-tone hair

If you’re having a hard time settling on one hair color, don’t worry, because 2023 will apparently see more adventurous hair coloring that combines different colors into one look, also known as two-tone hair. Online searches for “blue and black braids” increased by 215% and “lavender and blonde hair” increased by 150%.

Short is the new long

According to LOOKFANTASTIC, we’re going to say goodbye to long acrylic nails and hair. Online searches for “French micro nails” increased by 235% and “chopped haircut” increased by 550%.

Supreme Ceramide

Ceramide is the fatty acid produced by the skin to prevent it from feeling dry, and therefore ceramide serums help strengthen the skin’s moisture barrier and improve hydration. LOOKFANTASTIC expects more brands to launch Ceramide serums in 2023 to meet growing demand.

lip stains

Don’t get me wrong, we always love a lipstick. But lip stains tend to last longer and give the lips a natural tint. There has already been an increase in demand for Benefit’s Benetint Lip and Cheek Stain this year.
