Meghan Markle dons £295 pendant during meditation that ‘symbolizes everlasting love’

A scene from the Meghan Markle and Prince Harry documentary showed the couple sitting in a meditation session which saw them burst into tears at one point. The Duchess of Sussex wore a very special necklace for the shoot.

Meghan opted to wear her ‘Love Pendant’ by designer Sophie Lis, which costs £295. The pendant is inspired by a 1907 piece by Lyon designer Alphonse Augis.

Earlier this year the Duchess was seen wearing this stunning pendant at the Invictus Games, but was first seen wearing it around her neck in March 2020 while on a trip to the National Theater in London to raise funds for the Wild at Heart Foundation, a global dog. rescue.

Ms Lis is said to have sold hundreds of versions of the necklace after the Duchess was seen in it in 2020.

However, it wasn’t until the recent trip to the Invictus Games that the pendant was widely released.

The description of this necklace reads: “This pendant is inspired by an excerpt from the poem “The Eternal Song” by the 19th century French poet Rosemonde Gerard: Because, you see, every day I love you more, Today more than yesterday and much less than tomorrow’.

In English, this translates to: Because, you see, every day I love you more, today more than yesterday and less than tomorrow.

The description continues: “The pendant symbolizes eternal love and reflects the poem with a + in diamonds and a in ruby.”

There’s a lot of history behind the ‘Love Pendant’ which Notting Hill-based Ms Lis has translated into 22k gold vermeil (gold-plated silver) with a halo of diamonds.

It is inspired by a famous pendant and a legendary poem. The version Meghan wore is a rebus.

It means a puzzle with words or letters and patterns that create the meaning of an ornamental piece.

The words on the pendant say “Qu’heir” and “Que Demain”. In English, this translates to “more” and the inscription reads “than today” while the ruby minus sign means less, with the words “than tomorrow.”

The ‘love pendant’ the Duchess wears can be found on the Sophie Lis website, where it is described as ‘a symbol of ever-growing love’.

A total of 10% of every sale goes directly to the Wild at Heart Foundation. By wearing this pendant on several occasions, Meghan has contributed to a charitable cause close to her heart.

It’s also the type of sentimental or symbolic jewelry the Duchess of Sussex seems to be drawn to.

Other sentimental jewelry Meghan wore during this scene was Princess Diana’s Cartier watch and her engagement ring.

The Duchess of Sussex added a touch of glitz to her ensemble with her late mother-in-law Princess Diana’s £17,800 gold Cartier Tank watch.

The Tank watch, which once belonged to Princess Diana and which Harry thought Harry had gifted to Meghan, was priced at £17,800 at the time, but is now probably worth much more given its history.

This is one of the pieces sported by Meghan. The elegant watch has been worn by Diana on several occasions, including during a 1997 visit to the Hindu temple Shri Swaminarayan Mandir in London and during an engagement with the British Lung Foundation the same year.

She could also be seen sporting her £271,000 engagement ring from Prince Harry. This piece of jewelery was originally designed by Prince Harry and court jewelers Cleave and Company using a stone from Botswana and two smaller stones from Diana’s collection.

To accompany these jewels during her meditation session, Meghan wore a gray button-up blouse with a wide collar and pinstriped pants in the same color.
