LOS ANGELES and NEW YORK, Jan. 24, 2023 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — National City Bank today announced that Martha Henderson, longtime Executive Vice President of Entertainment Banking, will assume the newly created role of Vice President of Entertainment Banking. JaHan Wang, formerly head of Entertainment Banking on the East Coast, has been promoted to executive vice president of Entertainment Banking.
As vice president, Henderson will continue to play an important role in Entertainment Banking, particularly in the organization’s work with customers and on strategy.
When she joined City National, Henderson was one of 16 colleagues on the bank’s fledgling Entertainment Banking team. She was named head of the company in 1989. Under her leadership, City National’s team of 250 colleagues now provides financial expertise to more than 90% of entertainment business leaders, more than half of all of the Broadway shows, over 80% of the country music industry in Nashville, and some of the biggest names in the sports and Latin entertainment industries. She led Entertainment Banking’s strategic expansion into New York, as well as the opening of the bank’s first offices in Atlanta and on Music Row in Nashville in 2011, and most recently in Miami in 2019. Wang has worked for City National for 16 years and has been the head of East Coast Entertainment Banking since May 2021. He has over 30 years of banking experience and has held a series of increasingly senior positions at within Entertainment Banking since joining the team. as Vice President and Chief Loan Officer. Prior to City National, Wang worked as a relationship banker at Citibank’s domestic corporate bank. He began his career in the mid-corporate banking division of JPMorgan as a relationship banker.
Wang was named to the class of 2022 by Leadership Music, a highly selective nonprofit national educational program and forum for recognized leaders in the music industry. Active in the community, he has volunteered with New York Cares since 2017, supporting numerous charities in and around New York City, and served as a mentor with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Los Angeles since 2020. Wang has also been a member of the Business Leadership Council of Central Park Conservancy since 2022.
