Looking for her hair secrets, HELLO! The magazine spoke with celebrity hairstylist and Jerome Russell brand educator Jason Collier, who talked about how Kate keeps her hair looking so flawless.
Jason explained that during the winter months, because there is less humidity and humidity in the air, your scalp becomes drier. Because it’s the moisture and natural oils in your hair that hold the curl, it’s very difficult to create long-lasting curls during the winter months. But there are a few things that can be done to fix this problem.
Jason explained, “Kate’s hair always looks so shiny and healthy, especially in this vintage curl style. The key to keeping curls in place is adding moisture to the hair.
“The first step to long lasting curls is strong hair which can be achieved by using hair serums or oils with bonding technology. I love the ‘Bstyled Hair Serum’ which also contains marula oil that nourishes hair from root to tip, just what you need for heat styled curls.”

“Before any heat styling, you should use a heat protectant, not only to keep it in place, but also to keep the hair healthy. Using a product specifically designed for curls can also help because it can also help control frizz, which is why I love ‘Bstyled Heat Protection Curl Definer.'”
The Jerome Russell Bstyled Heat Protection Curl Definer is available on Amazon for less than £7 (opens in a new tab).
Jason continued, “Another way to keep curls in place is to use a thickening mousse on your hair before using the heat tools. So it’s a no-brainer that they would be perfect for holding your hair in any style.”
“And finally, another way to maintain your curls is to style your hair on day two hair. Day two hair (i.e. the day after you wash your hair) is best for styling. because your natural oils have readjusted and have a better grip on the hair and the products you put in it, which improves the hold of the hairstyle you want.”
